Kingdom Service: A life of Dedication.
Luke 19:30-31
[30]Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
[31]And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
A donkey is a beast of burden that is presumably stronger than a horse and considered more social than a horse. The colt that Christ rode on as seen in the scriptures above was actually a donkey (a young one).
It was about time for Christ to fulfill another scripture written about Him (Matthew 21:4).
That made Him send a few of His disciples to go get the ready made colt tied in the midst of the village just before them.
This story is wonderful not just in the fact that it underlines another moment of fulfillment of Prophecy, but also in the fact that it teaches one major requirement that those who have identified themselves with Christ must have in order to be a vessel of honour in the hand of God.
This is intriguing. What caught my attention that I think we can all learn from is the DEDICATION OF THE COLT FOR MASTER JESUS, SINGLY. The Colt was tied for a single purpose: that it may be rode upon by Jesus. How do I know? Jesus told His disciples to say unto whoever challenges them that the Lord hath need of the tied colt, and that settles it. When the owners inquired from them the reason behind their action, the disciples gave them the word of Christ, THE LORD HATH NEED OF IT.
So, it happened that the Colt was preserved for that young Jewish Rabbi, not for any other supposed superior somewhere else. All of the strength of the colt at that time was simply for Christ's service, not for any other.
This remind me of 2 Timothy 2:21: So whoever cleanses himself [from what is ignoble and unclean, who separates himself from contact with contaminating and corrupting influences] will [then himself] be a vessel set apart and useful for honorable and noble purposes, consecrated and profitable to the Master, fit and ready for any good work.
As in the case of the young donkey we are considering, any other purpose that the it may have served when Christ needed it would be ignoble and antagonistic to the original purpose that it was meant to serve at that time.
As believers we are colts meant to serve our master only. Jesus our master desires that we be for Him alone. He desires that our strength, intellects and resources be exploited to serve Him alone. If we will therefore meet His standard, we must ensure that our entire being, Spirit, soul and body is dedicated for Him like the colt was dedicated for Christ alone.
Time will fail us to look at the glory therein DEDICATION. But look at that colt in Luke 19 upon which Christ rode, it was upon it, as tender and young as it was, that Christ received the shout of acclamation: blessed be the King that comes in the name of the Lord. (Luke 19:38)
God want to proclaim His Glory through you. He needs you for a profitable work, a work that will bring Him glory. However, you have a part to play, and the part is that of dedication and separation. Separate your entire being from the world and dedicate yourself like the owner of the colt dedicated it. Christ is your own owner, He just desire that you make yourself a tool through which an art work that shows His Glory might be wrought.
Beloved, anytime some other motive, opinion, force or false lords try to steal your being, confess that you are a colt tied for Jesus and stay true to your confession.
God bless you dearly.

This is powerful! Thank you
