UNDERSTANDING WHY NATURAL MEN BEHAVE THE WAY THEY DO AND HOW TO HELP THEM
There was a season in my life that I was a toddler and same is true with you. At that time, we made a lot of requests from our parents and also behaved in diverse ways. I believe those requests or idiosyncrasies could probably have bred punishment If they are repeated now that we are of age.
We may overlook that and think that there is generally nothing to learn from that stage of life. But I tell you, there are lots to learn.
Have you ever reconsidered that period and provide the reason why you escaped punishment for most of those silly nonsense? (don’t mind my usage of word please). Yes, tell me, have you ever?
Well, if you have taken that exercise of reconsidering that era before, I am sure you will have a list of reasons which perhaps gave you the amnesty you seem to enjoy then. But I am persuaded that inherent in those reasons is the truth that your parents understood that your idionsyncrasies was due to the fact that you were a child. If you slapped dad or mum then, in the name of playing, you just go and try that now
in your right mind. You don’t expect anything less than punishment and that doesn’t mean you are loved less than the way you used to be loved, it’s just that such habit of not expected of you at that
age!
Glory to the love and Knowledge of Jesus. I’ll love us to draw lesson from Luke 22:50-51:
50. And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
51. And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
The servants of the high priest had come to get him arrested for an offence he did not commit. And one of the disciples smote one of the high priest’s servants ear.
I know what you will say. Good for that high priest’s servant. Nemesis caught up with him. God of vengeance has intervened! These and a lot of other comments will probably be what will come out of you and me. Lord have mercy. But the Lord understand something you and I are probably yet to
discover. He knew why that servant was there at that night. He knew why he joined the company of the criminals who disguised themselves as BATONS OF LAW (By this I mean one who acts on the law that guides a territory). This reason is the same reason He unveiled concerning the Pharisees in John
8:44:
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
You see, Jesus understood the root of that servant’s problem. He knew that in that servant was no Truth and the spirit that worketh in him is that of the prince of this world.
And he helped him. He healed that ear!!! Glory. I am sure that servant must be truly bewildered, wondering what kind of man Jesus was!
Be sincere, would you have healed that ear if you were the JESUS CHRIST. ?
That servant was a natural man and therefore alienated from the life of God. He needs to be shown compassion. He needs to be shown Love and finally the Truth that will set him free from that way of life that he was born to subscribe to (Psalms 51:5)
Beloved, what are you doing to the natural men around you when they behave the way they do?
Do you become like those who claimed to catch that woman in the act of adultery and put themselves in the seat of judges? or you are like Jesus who understand it for her that the very nature of sin in her was responsible for such terrible acts? Terrible I repeat. Some think when Mercy is advocated like this, you
are condoning nonsense. FAR BE IT FROM THAT.
Beloved, understand this that what natural men need is the truth that will give them freedom and transform their entire life into what God wants, not judgment from us.
Reach out to them with the message of love, pray for them, be merciful unto them.
I love what a brother posted sometimes ago when a fraudster texted him. He responded the way Christ
would have responded if He were the one. He reached out to the fraudster with the message of Truth.
This is what he posted, “every fraudster is a potential saint”. Sincerely, I love that comment.
You too, live with that knowledge that every natural (1 Cor. 2:14a) man is a potential saint and that way you will shine the light of Christ.
Rather than hurl abuse at that irritating man, child, neighbor etc. pray for them and reach out to them with the message of God’s transforming power. AMEN.
However, be wise in dealing with them. Light is the cure for darkness, not its associate.
Bless you, dear.
